Your document contents
PDFs and photos you select are processed by code running in your browser. Packet Studio has no document-upload API. It does not send document contents, file names, titles, prepared-by details, or cover notes to its usage-measurement service.
Saved packets and formats
A saved packet stores original files and settings in this browser’s IndexedDB storage. A reusable format stores only its text and settings in localStorage. These copies are local to the browser profile and device. You can delete individual packets and formats in the workspace. Clearing this site’s browser data removes all local copies and preferences.
Local storage is not a backup, account, or cross-device synchronization service. Private browsing, storage pressure, or browser cleanup can remove it.
Optional usage measurement
Measurement is off until you choose Allow basic measurement. If you allow it, the service sets a random browser cookie and stores a hashed version of that identifier, UTC calendar dates of visits, and yes/no flags for basic actions: adding files, generating a PDF, requesting a download, saving a packet or format, reopening a packet, and reusing a format.
The random cookie is HttpOnly, uses SameSite=Strict, and is marked Secure on HTTPS. The application’s measurement database does not store your IP address, browser fingerprint, email, file details, document titles, or contents. A remembered permission choice is stored locally in your browser.
Counts describe opted-in browsers, not verified people. Clearing cookies, changing devices, or declining measurement affects the counts. A download request does not prove that a file was saved. Sample-packet actions are excluded from product-action counts. Preview deployments do not collect optional measurement. The protected owner testing address uses a separate test dataset. Visits to this public address are anonymous; an owner who opts in here is counted like any other browser.
Changing your mind
Open Usage choices in the workspace footer. Turn off & delete records stops optional collection and requests deletion of the measurement records linked to the cookies in this browser. The interface reports whether deletion succeeded. If the service is unreachable, retry that control when it is available. This does not delete your locally saved packets or formats.
A browser Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal keeps new optional measurement off. Previously collected records can be deleted using the control above. The application keeps a rolling 90-day window: older records are pruned when the next measurement session is processed. Data may remain until that next request if there is no activity.
The hosting services and sign-in
Cloudflare Pages delivers this public website. If you allow optional measurement, Cloudflare forwards only the small measurement request and random measurement cookie to Packet Studio’s backend on ChatGPT Sites. Both providers may process ordinary network metadata for delivery, security, and operations. The protected owner report uses ChatGPT sign-in; that identity is not copied into the measurement database.
Advertising
Advertising is not connected in this version. Packet Studio does not currently load advertising-network scripts or set advertising cookies. Any future advertising integration needs a corresponding privacy update and the applicable visitor choices before it is enabled.
What is available to the owner
The owner report shows aggregate usage, returning-browser counts, and next-day and seven-day return rates. It does not show your files, titles, or a list of visitor identities.
